A scarce and original WW1 period German Aircrew flying helmet....Typical WW1 issue six panel construction and with neck flap.

PYRM studs to ear rolls and helmet complete with straps including the crown. Blanket lined and label still intact ‘Gefreiter Wagner Eric’ “Erslaffel/2”.

No damage & leather soft & supple. An excellent example and rare.

Interestingly there is an Unterofficer Eric Wagner on the German war graves site. Born Oct 1913 and KIA in a flying accident in June 1940..Unlikely to be the fellow who owned this helmet but interesting.
